AB - <p style="text-align: justify;">A numerical method for singularly perturbed semilinear boundary value problems is given. The method uses the fourth order Hermite scheme on a special discretization mesh. Its stability and convergence are investigated in the discrete $L^1$ norm. &nbsp;</p>
